Following are some of the innovations we had in our product that are not available in other Apparel or Home Textile ERPs.



The Make-to-Order Product Configurator

The Textile Industry needed to get out of bulky paper files regarding product specifications. There was no systematic method of creating, storing, retrieving, editing, maintaining or reusing these files. Costly mistakes were very common. To counter this, we created the Order and Style Capturing Systems and made the entire process completely paper free.

The Fabric Procurement Requirement Calculator

Our calculator does it much more accurately than anything the industry already has. Savings in fabric hit the bottom line directly.

The Fabric Issuance Requirement Calculator

There is nothing in the industry that ensures that the fabric issued for cutting is exactly in accordance with the number of size-wise and colour- wise pieces planned for cutting.

The Trims and Accessories Requirement Calculator

This complex calculation is still done by hand held calculators by experienced managers and yet it remains prone to errors and miscalculations. Not even Excel can perform this. We had to invent different formulae for different kinds of trims and accessories to eliminate errors.

The Sewing, Finishing and Packing Layout Planner
This is truly our ‘piece de resistance’ as there is absolutely no product available in the market that automatically creates balanced sewing layouts based on time and motion study of each sewing operation.
The Thread Calculator
The calculations involved in accurately predicting the thread requirement in an order for multiple types and colors are so complex and time consuming that it is simply not worth the effort doing it with hand held calculators. So guesswork coupled with huge safety margins, wastages and shortages are rife in the industry. Our calculator is fast, very accurate and one of its kind solution for this industry.
The Variant Material Inventory Management Problem
This industry deals with variant raw materials i.e., raw materials with the same generic name but with millions of possible permutation e.g., a zipper can be of any size, length, metal finish, color, design etc. and yet it will always be known as a zipper. Buttons, eyelets, labels, chord-holders, finished fabrics; all belong to the variant material category. With variant materials, the inventory item records are likely to run into millions. Traditional material management systems cannot handle this. We had to develop a way out of this variant trap, which we effectively did. To the best of our knowledge, no other ERP solves this variant material problem.
The Variant Process Lead-Time Problem
There is no standard lead-time for doing a job in this industry. A pair of trousers may be sewn in 45 seconds on a line and another may take twice as long or even half this time. All depends on the product design specifications. All other processes such as cutting, finishing, packing, dyeing, printing, embroidery, washing etc. have variant timings depending upon the nature of the product being manufactured. Since it is also a make-to-order industry, therefore every new order is a new product. As long as process lead-times are not accurately calculated afresh for each product, there can be no credible capacity or resource planning. We had to invent nine Product Engineering modules just to overcome this problem. All other ERPs assume that for each product there is a standard lead-time, much to their own peril in this industry.
